Masakatsu Takagi
Born in 1979 in Kyoto. Lives and works in Hyogo, Japan.

Takagi’s multidisciplinary creation is unrestricted and it is widely introduced in the museum exhibitions and worldwide concerts with music albums/DVDs he released. He is one of the rare artists to embody diverse art expressions as Newsweek Japan once in 2009, included him in their special feature “100 Japanese People the World Respects.” His work was internationally showcased at the numerous group exhibitions held at Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, Taipei Fine Arts Museum, Toyota Municipal Museum of Art, and Museu de Arte Moderna De Sao Paulo.
Moreover, commissioned works encompass with soundtracks for various films, “Wolf Children (Ookamikodomo no Ame to Yuki)” (2012), “The Kingdom of Dreams and Madness” (2013), “Mirai” (2018), TV commercials for major enterprises in and out of Japan, and many writings for music publications. In 2018, Takagi published a book “Kotoidu” compiling his essays for the last six years.
