From 1885 to 1894, around 10,000 people from Yamaguchi Prefecture emigrated to Hawaii.
Join us for a talk and mini exhibition by artist Yuki Harada, who explores the cultural legacy of Japanese immigrants through the video work “Shadowing.
The talk will highlight the deep ties between Hawaii and Yamaguchi, and the exhibition features “Shadowing (Tomigoro)” shares his journey from Yamaguchi across the sea.
