Over three nights, a new art event, BENTEN 2024, will be held in Kabukicho led by Chim↑Pom from Smappa!Group as its artistic director.
Kabukicho, Shinjuku has been a place of diversity and a base for avant-garde artists since the post-war reconstruction period, and even today the town remains a lively melting pot of popular culture. The streets of Shinjuku are also dotted with bars, stages, alternative spaces and other private contemporary art projects, and there are many artists based in the Shinjuku-Kabukicho area. During the event, visitors will be able to circulate among the individual spaces that have recently opened in the Kabukicho area, demonstrating the neighborhood’s already unique status as an art district.

On the 4 November, a site-specific core satellite studio unique to Kabukicho, organized by DOMMUNE led by Naohiro Ukawa will open, and present special programs with fabulous guests!
