ANOMALY is pleased to announce a one-day performance event by Ikumi Yang and Kanya Takeda as an affiliated project to Takuro Tamayama’s solo exhibition “Something Black”. During the opening hours on Tuesday, April 25th, there will be intermittent performances inside the exhibition space.

Ikumi Yang
Born in Tokyo, Japan in 1993.
After graduating from Tama Art University, she completed the master’s program at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2019.
She creates performance/installation works with the history of urban life as her starting point. She references the perspective of oriental landscape painting to create spaces and communities with fluidity and margins. She also directs performances and performs on stage.
Recent exhibitions include “To/from Kuba” Performance Project (Mitaka SCOOL, 2022), “When I quit eating tomato” (TOKAS, 2021), “Notes on the 24 minutes (Proto Theater, 2021), etc.

Kanya Takeda
Born in Akita, Japan in 1982. Graduated from Tokyo Gakugei University.
Studied Butoh under Butoh dancer Teru Goi for 3 years until his death in the last year of his life. Also studied classical ballet and modern dance at Dance01 from the same period. He has produced a number of works that are composed based on martial spirituality and physicality. He has been the artistic director of Dance 01 since 2019.
Recent major performances and choreographies include, the opera “Tenko” (choreography/Tajimi Choir Japan/Gifu Samaranka Hall, 2021), “YES” (choreography/composition/performance/Dance01/Sendai Mediatheque, 2021), “Crazy like you” (solo work/Dance01 Blue Theater, 2020)
