Tatzu Nishi
SHIBUYA ART SCRAMBLE 2023

Tatzu Nishi is internationally known for his large-scale projects that dynamically transform familiar landscapes by creating private spaces in highly public places.
This year is the 100th anniversary of Hachiko’s birth, the Nishi’s outdoor projects which are most of have been presented overseas, are about to be set in Shibuya.
What will Nishi prepare as a birthday present for the Hachiko, who is always exposed to the outdoors? This will be an incident that will throw a wrench into the current situation in Japan, where it is extremely difficult to develop art projects in highly public places.
